I am a fierce, fat, queer femme living in the charming city of Minneapolis, MN, though my roots remain firmly planted back East in the Garden State where I was born and raised. I'm a fourth year Ph.D. student in gender studies focusing on feminist and queer theories and their intersections with new media and fat studies. When I'm not working on my dissertation research on the neo-burlesque movement, I keep busy as the editor of the forthcoming first fat, queer anthology, Spilling Over. I'm passionate about opportunities that promise to merge my academic dreams with my activist heart. In my spare time, I enjoy causing queer upheaval with my femme sisters and allies in the Twin Cities chapter of the Femme Mafia, teaching butches how to slow dance, and attending cake decorating workshops with Midwestern soccer moms.
