Hello fellow fatties! I am a radical feminist fat queer femme living in Minneapolis, MN. I work as a therapist focusing on gender and sexuality and in my spare time I am invested in creating fat-positive femme-loving queer community through multiple outlets, one being the Twin Cities chapter of the Femme Mafia, another being the neophyte burlesque/performance troupe Sparklicious. My best friend and I have a piece on queer fat femme identity and friendship coming out in the spring issue of Make/Shift. I also love color coordination and vintage clothes, and want to work on developing ethical supportive outlets for fatties to get dressed up and looking good in Minneapolis. I am excited to build community through the fat activist network!

I know this is inexcusably overdue, but I did read your conversation in make/shift. I was struck by the tenderness in your discussion about finding your gender identity, and the openness about the experience of living your way into it. I like the willingness to talk about uncomfortable dynamics along the fat femme spectrum. It's important to hear a woman's voice declare that, having lost weight, she no longer feels at home in her body. But it opens the door to a discussion about how fat people feel about non-fat people who want to talk about fat with them. At least it raised that issue for me. Well done, honey!
