Our local library subscribes to dozens--if not hundreds--of professional journals. One can definitely go to the library and search some very expensive journals there for free and I have been told that there is a pass word that will allow searches from home--that the state subscribes to for citizens. However, I tried finding some sociological material with no luck. Your local library might have subscriptions to journals you are interested in--or not :)
